Linden Unveils New City Logo Design
For the past eight weeks, the Linden creative team has been hard at work designing logos, meeting with City of Fort Collins communication staff, revising designs, pasting up logo presentation boards, and helping narrow down the nearly 100 logo ideas we created to one final selection. Here it is:

Our logo design features a representation of Horsetooth Rock, along with the suggestion of the river and/or trails. The oval format gives a nod to the semi-circle format of the original City logo and provides a traditional feel. The clouds that finish off the top of the logo, the swooping lines of the foothills and the curve of the river add energy and a sense of movement.
The logotype is clean, legible and heavy enough to reproduce well in all applications.
As Linden worked with City staff on logo design, it became clear that it was our mission to create a moderate logo-one that would fall somewhere between the sleek, contemporary North Star logo and the dated, hard-to-read existing City logo. Thus, Linden's City logo is an evolution, not a revolution.
The Logo in Context
It's hard to look at logos all by themselves. We think you'll find it useful to see the logo as it would be used in the real world. Here are some photos that show how the logo actually looks in several typical applications:
